My name is Ella Keen Allee, a 20-year-old college student at Cornell University.
My passion for design began in elementary school. My friends and I created a paper phone "company," which was exactly what it sounds like; we would meticulously cut out phone-like shapes from printer paper, then start brainstorming what they should look like. Although these were just little doodles, that feeling of complete artistic expression has stayed with me until today (our "company" closed down in 2014, but its legacy lives on!).
Fast-forward to the present and I get to design in college, and this past summer, as an intern! Every day, I'm learning how to be more confident in my design voice. Studying psychology along with information science helps me understand the intricacies of the human brain and how we can make the best products for users. Visual studies reminds me of the beauty of art, whether digital or physical, and the effect that it can have on us all. I'm passionate about making a positive impact with my work, and giving back to the communities that shaped me.
In elementary school, I dreamt big about what my "company" could be. Today, I'm still reaching for the stars! 🌠
